I started this blog when I was restoring a 1917 Kennebec canoe. Now I have added to my boat building adventures, and built a kayak. I also have pages about birds and astronomy.

Left stern ribs and inwale

Some warm weather allowed me to strip the last of the finish in the stern. I'm getting ready to bond a few pieces in place.

I also drilled out the seat hanger holes to clean them up so I can bond in plugs and re-drill to fit the new 3/16 hanger bolts.

New parts

We had an unusually warm day today, so I took the afternoon off and worked on the canoe.  I made two new rib tips, trimmed the new left inwale tip to fit the scarf joint cut, and beveled the new stem on the bandsaw and planed one side.
